The FEFLOW International User Conference begins with two days of presentations by FEFLOW users and keynote speakers. Afterward, you have the opportunity to expand your skill-set through participation in two-days of hands-on FEFLOW training workshops including sessions for both beginner and advanced users to conclude this not to be missed event.

FEFLOW is widely recognized by research institutes, universities, consulting firms, and government organizations for its powerful subsurface flow and transport simulation capabilities. Offering both structured and unstructured mesh provides users with the highest degree of flexibility to account for both simple and complex geometrical configurations in great detail. Application areas include water management, mine water, saltwater intrusion, geothermal energy, and variably saturated media.

Keynote Speakers

Dr. Catherine Moore is a groundwater scientist and modeller. Most recently she has led the groundwater modelling team at GNS Science in New Zealand. She has more than 25 years’ experience in local government, groundwater consultancies and research organizations. Her modelling interests include the development of pragmatic tools for robust decision-support modelling, quantifying model predictive uncertainty, identifying cost-effective data acquisition and monitoring strategies, and optimizing model-data assimilation. Some of her current work is focusing on mathematical and empirical explorations of appropriate model complexity to enhance decision support.

Dr. Nicole DeNovio is a groundwater modeler and contaminant hydrogeologist. She leads the Global Water Practice and groundwater modelling team at Golder. Nicole has worked on groundwater issues on six continents for projects ranging from local water supplies to some of complex mining or contaminated sites. Her modelling interests include the use of data science tools and machine learning to improve our ability to support management decisions, approaches to model evaluation, impacts of climate variability on model uncertainty, and incorporating system-modeling concepts in addressing groundwater management planning. Some of her current work is focusing on the integration of system modeling approaches with machine learning algorithms.
